Our Software Engineers work alongside our Systems Engineers in South East Surrey. Our Software Engineers work using a variety of software languages both on our back office systems and Cubic’s devices. They have a number of responsibilities, which include:

  • Design, development, test, modify and integrate software systems producing detailed technical specifications for the software to be developed.
  • Translating these designs and specifications into programming language.
  • Assessing severity of any problems, determining corrective action and resolving technical problems.

Our Software Engineer jobs in Surrey, South East, call for individuals to be educated to degree level in a relevant science discipline with previous experience in specification, design and development of software systems. These jobs also require good communication and problem solving skills.

Our Systems Engineers work alongside our Software Engineers in South East Surrey. Systems Engineers at Cubic are key to capturing and analysing new customer requirements for multi-disciplinary systems and designing the resulting systems solutions. Our Systems Engineering jobs include the following responsibilities:

  • Running ‘requirement capture’ meetings and workshops with clients across Surrey and the South East.
  • Investigating existing systems in order to determine the impact of enhancement requests.
  • Estimating and planning new development activities and designing solutions using appropriate modelling methods and tools.

Our Systems Engineer jobs require individuals to be educated to a degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with prior experience of systems analysis and design. These jobs will suit self-motivated, commercially aware individuals with good communication and presentation skills.

Our System Test Team, based in South East Surrey, work to identify software defects and inconsistencies in functionality against defined performance measures and to progress and verify their correction to ensure that all software used by Cubic devices is up-to-date and running efficiently.

Our System Test Engineers are central to the System Test Team and their jobs have several responsibilities, including:

  • Preparing detailed functional test specifications for device and system tests and then conducting these tests and overseeing the work of Test Technicians.
  • Liaising with Engineering departments and customers across Surrey and the South East with regards to the testing of products.
  • Conducting tests both in house and in the presence of the customer.

Our System Test Engineer jobs call for individuals with an HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline and previous experience within a Product Test or Quality Assurance environment. Our System Test Engineers must have experience of each stage of the Software Development Life Cycle and have good day-to-day planning skills. Good communication skills are key to these jobs, as is an enthusiastic approach to work.

Our Hardware Engineers are an essential part of our Engineering Team based in South East Surrey.

Our Hardware Engineers work to successfully design and document the hardware engineering aspects of the company’s products. As a Hardware Engineer at Cubic, responsibilities would include:

  • To fulfil customer or development requirements through mechanical design, component specification, prototype, testing and documentation stages.
  • Assessing the validity of design and manufacturing proposals.
  • Preparing systems and engineering specifications to obtain quotes from sub contractors and suppliers.

Our Hardware Engineers are required to be educated to at least an HND / HNC level with relevant design experience on various programmes, including AutoCAD version 2002. These jobs would suit self-motivated individuals who are able to work unsupervised and have good communication skills.
